I feel the need to say that one more time, and then I'll tell you why I feel that way.
PEOPLE ARE MONKEYS.
I don't mean to offend any monkeys out there, insinuating that people would be lessened to be like them, but basically I just mean that people are retarded.
Here's why...
(*Disclaimer*- I'm not addicted to ephedra. I just take it because I feel like it helps me lose and/or maintain weight.)
That said, I am BEYOND HORRIFIED that there are currently trials to determine whether or not to ban ephedra.
People? Products containing ephedra HAVE A WARNING RIGHT ON THE FUCKING LABEL. It's there for a reason. TO WARN YOU. Some people are allergic to it. Some people have bad reactions to it. If you're dumb enough to take a bunch and then run your ass off in 90-plus degree heat, you deserve to have a heart attack. Figure out what it does to you FIRST, then take it before exercising. People who take it should understand that they're taking a risk.
It's like cigarettes. They also have a warning label RIGHT THERE ON THE PACKAGE. People smoke knowing DAMN WELL there is a risk that it will either make them sick or kill them. Hundreds of thousands of people DIE every year from smoking-related illnesses, but do you think the government will ever ban cigarettes? HELL NO! You know why? Because they get shitloads of tax money from them!
So, why ephedra and not cigarettes? Because the parents of that baseball player and the high school football player who died after taking ephedra are all over the TV and in newspapers whining about how ephedra killed their babies.
WAH.
I say treat it just like cigarettes... Make it so you have to be 18 to buy products containting ephedra. I agree with the woman I saw on TV this morning...kids should not have access to it. However, if you're 18, you're old enough to kill yourself by smoking, so you're old enough to take a risk of taking ephedra.
Right?
Right.

Just an amusing side note. My thighs smell like carrots today.
.
.
What? You want an explanation? Okay. *grin* I used Burt's Bees Carrot Nutrative Body Lotion on my cuts last night, and they seem to have healed quite a bit faster than when I put Neosporin on them. So I put it on again this morning, hoping that I can get them healed by Saturday, when I might be swimming in a pool in our hotel in Seattle. (I do have a fun explanation ready for anyone who asks about them, though. "I fell... on a razor... over 30 times..." *innocent look* "What?")
Anyway, I just thought I'd share.
Happy Thursday!
