Presidential Debate Idea

After reading the fact-checking analysis of the debate last night, I have come up with what I think is a fabulous idea. We attach shock collars (or electrodes connected to a power source) to both candidates. Any time they say something that is completely false, we zap them for 10 seconds. Any time they say something that is semi-true, we zap them for 5 seconds. Bitchy remarks (like John McCain's "that one" comment last night) get a 2-second zap.

OR, we could not broadcast the debates live. They could tape them in advance, which would give them time to fact check everything the candidates say. If they say something that is not even close to being accurate or true, they mute them for the length of that answer. This way, viewers only get to hear the parts of the debate that are actually reality-based instead of spin, "my opponent eats babies and kicks puppies because he's the Anti-Christ" statements, pointless and stupid finger-pointing, creative-math-based spin and "the other guy sucks and here's why" declarations.

What do you think?
