Her Milkshake Brings All The Boys To The Yard

So, it turns out that our sweet little Kate is definitely not fixed yet.

She is apparently the neighborhood whore. The warm and comfy little kitty den that we created for her on our deck is her version of a cheap motel room. Her milkshake is bringing all the boys to the yard...and her being in heat right now means she is really NOT picky. Of course, this makes the boys happy, since they know there's enough of her to go around, so they don't have to fight each other for the privilege. There are at least two male kitties hanging out in the barzebo these days, doing whatever the kitty version of eating peanuts and drinking beer is while they wait for their 'lady' to become available.

I am hoping like hell that the memory I have of the woman across the street saying she grabs all the neighborhood kitties and takes them to the vet's office where she works to be fixed is an actual memory and not a false one. Because while we haven't gotten Kate fixed yet, she is definitely going to be. I just hope no one in our neighborhood has kept their male cat(s) intact for any reason, so she doesn't actually get knocked up.

On Tuesday, Azrael was sick again. She was wandering around howling sadly about how it hurt to pee. Also on Tuesday, Kate was in heat again. She was wandering around howling sadly about how horny she was and expressing her displeasure that I wouldn't let her out so she could get knocked up.

It sounded something like this:

Azrael: He-rro! He-rro! (Sounds a bit like He-llo!)
Kate: Oh-Boy! Oh-Boy!
Azrael: He-rro! He-rro!
Kate: Oh-Boy! Oh-Boy!

Now, while this little snippet of the conversation seems like it would be a) amusing, and b) entertaining, I can assure you that after approximately 12 hours, it is neither amusing nor entertaining. The only good thing that came out of it is that Kate and Az pretty much stuck together on Tuesday, taking turns following each other around and yelling at each other, which meant Callie - who usually spends Az's sick days trying to get away from Az and her yowling and her obsessive need to cuddle - was left alone.

I know that both TheMister and I will be very, VERY happy when Kate is no longer in heat, as we would really like to be able to sleep all night without having to listen to Kate's me so horny howling.

For now I must bid you adieu. Until I write again, I'll just say 'may your pets be quiet and un-horny'.

*grin*
